I grew up knowing exactly what somebody meant when they called a Black person an “Uncle Tom.”Sellout.Bootlicker.Working against us.So finding out that the actual Uncle Tom dies because he REFUSES to do that?That irritated me bad.Because Sambo is right there in the book doing exactly what we accuse Tom of doing.
